Repeats not working as expected and style query
Can anyone solve this dilemma for me? I've set up voltas to repeat 1,3 and 2,4 I think correctly but while the first and last repeat are OK for the second and third repeats I just get the first five bars.
Also, when I apply a style I've created to this file (to reduce the space taken up so I can get several tunes to a page) the chord vertical position setting doesn't work, either when I apply the style or when I delete the chords and re-enter. If I go to the style, general, chord symbols in the menu I get the setting for the position I want, but the inspector shows a different value.

Further experiments on the style puzzle - I've taken another file and applied the new style - the chords stayed in the same place and the inspector still says they are 0 sp vertical offset. However, if I add a new chord - either by direct entry or by selecting an old one and pressing space or tab the new chord is much lower. Pressing space to move along makes the cursor jump up and down from a chord to an unchorded note and back. If I move a new chord up to align it to the old ones, then it has a different setting in the inspector even though it's in the same place. So there are now three values to vertical offset - one in the style menu, one on the old chords and one on the new ones.
Weird.
Concerning your first request:
It's known, that the playback of MuseScore is confused sometimes with more complicated Volta repeat lists. At least a workaround should solve the problem of the Volta playback by using a hidden "D.S.".
But I'm just a little bit confused, why the last repeat wan't work.

Thanks for that - an ingenious work round. I've started to type it in again mainly, to get over the style problems. It still doesn't work, so it must be a bug, not a corrupt file. This time when it gets to repeat 2 it plays bar1 and the 2 volta first bar together! Then bar 2 only. And I think I misreported the behaviour - the 1,3,4 work OK only 2 is faulty. I can live with that, I'm just really pleased to have Musescore and the support of so many volunteers. But the style problem is getting in my way.

Self help - maybe I'm getting there. The inspector shows the offset from the style - that's why I'm getting different values. And I've found by trial and error how to reset to the style by clicking on buttons.
It seems to be the case that *text* style changes don't take effect immediately on a load of a style file - you need to first reset the text, as you've found. This is probably a bug, although I guess it is possible that there is some reason for this.
However, *general* style settings take effect immediately. So if the goal is to change chord symbol positions after the fact, the easy way to do that is to use Style / General / Chord Symbols. Any changes made there in a style file *will* take effect immediately. Of course, better still is to just create a template with the style set the way you want it in the first place, rather than having to correct things after the fact. But if you've got existing scores you want to update, the general style will be the way to go, at least for chord symbols.
