MuseScore refuses to play audio through bluetooth headset.
EDIT: A few hours later it's suddenly working again for no reason whatsoever. I have no idea why. Either way it's fixed.
I just opened up MuseScore today to try messing around with stuff and found that it won't play audio through anything other than the default speakers on my computer anymore, which is VERY ANNOYING for several reasons. I've looked through every guide and fix mentioned on the forum - the soundfont is intact, I've tried every setting in the I/O tab, I've reset to the default settings and reinstalled MuseScore - and nothing has worked to fix it. I've also triple-checked that the headset is the default audio device on the computer - yes, it is - and I've even attempted to disable the other audio devices (which results in MuseScore graying out the play button and leaving me unable to parse scores at all).
The settings in the I/O tab always produce one of two results: if I try to set it to any sort of "default" device (i.e. Windows DirectSound -> Primary Sound Device) or to the headset itself, the play button and other controls are grayed out and the score refuses to play. If I set it to anything else (i.e. MME -> Microsoft Sound Mapper - Input) it plays through the default speakers. I've always restarted MuseScore after applying the sound settings so that's not the issue either.
I've been using MuseScore for several years and have never had any problems with this beforehand. The headset is also not new, I've had it and have been using it with MuseScore for several months.
It's just occured to me that I did have to update my sound driver recently, which could potentially be the source of the problem - however, everything *else* on my computer still correctly plays through the headset, including iTunes/Google Chrome/Skype/Steam/games/etc. I've attached the options I can see on the I/O tab if that helps anyone. ASIO and "skeleton implementation" have no device options which is why I only showed that they're present on the API list.
I'm honestly at my wit's end here and have no idea what else to do. I've been searching for hours through the forums trying every fix but nothing's worked. Does anyone know what might be causing the issues?
Thanks ahead for any help.

Is there seriously no solution for this????!

The person you were replying to indicated his problem was solved, and in any event he was on windows. Whatever problem you are seeing is apparently something different. Similarly, the other thread you refer to was for a different version of MuseScore and the solution given to that problem worked. if it doens't for you, then you have a different problem. Best to start a new thread and include as much information as you can to help us understand what specifically might be going wrong on your particular system.
I am currently dealing with the same issue. Just yesterday, I was trying to listen to a song via Spotify while trying to notate it in Musescore. Spotsify by itself (with Musescore closed) works perfectly fine through my Logitech headphones, but once I open Musescore, the song cuts off and is "unavailable". It's not until I switch to my laptop speakers that the song decides to play. Again, Musescore will continue to play through the laptop, despite my default settings. I went through the same processes that you did; changing the default audio output devices on my laptop, changed the I/O settings, opened both programs at different times, etc.
Eventually, like you, Musescore decided to work with me, but today I'm met with the same problem again.
I've had the same issue! I'm on MacOS though, and mine's persistent. I've tried restarting, disconnecting bluetooth.. nothing works. The play button (as well as all of the other related controls) are completely greyed out, and I can't change my I/O settings. Note input's fine, I just can't hear anything, and it's been a huge pain in the butt to arrange with.

As you know, make sure your headset is turned on and connected. Double check in your Mac sound output that the headset is selected. Then start MuseScore. You might have to hit the restart audio button in I/O.

This worked for me, hitting restart audio in I/O immediately fixed the issue

If you can't play music at all, that is a complete different one from what is discussed in this thread - this is specific just about the sound not switching to Bluetooth. For more general problems, try the suggestions in https://musescore.org/en/node/96811
