Compatibility with Finale 2004

I can't get my Finale 2004 files to open in MuseScore. I ran through the list of available formats and the only one they have in common is Midi, which does not work because it puts everything on one staff, and I write piano music. If there is a work-around, please let me know. Finale 2004 does not save as in any format that MuseScore lists and Finale Notepad doesn't either. Thanks!

You need to use the Dolet plugin to export your .MUS files as MusicXML

1. Load the score you want to export.
2. USe the Mass Edit tool to select the whole score.
3. Got to the Plugins menu and choose MusicXML Export
4. Enter the appropriate file info inthe dialogue.
5. Click OK

YOu should now be able to open the file in MuseScore.

This is assuming of course that the Dolet Plugin was installed with Finale - it is by default.
