1. (tie) You must use an illusion. Either Slur from the last note in the previous measure then double click the slur and adjust it to look right. Or, enter a grace note and tie it to the desired note. Then look at the grace not only in the inspector and uncheck both visible and play.
2. (multi-measure repeat) You cannot make this actually work. If you press z it will bring up the master palette. Select the last option where is says symbols then type repeat in the search bar at the top and all the repeats will show up. You will need to drag it to where you want it and make the rests invisible. To make it functional you will have to copy the appropriate measures to those measures and make them invisible. This will allow the musician see what you want and playback to work properly.
