Buttons don't have symbols on them...
So when I open the program, where the playback button, note entry symbols should be, etc., there are blank buttons. When you click on them they work, but it's impossible to tell what space leads to what action. I just had to reinstall musescore (version 1.2 revision 5470) today so I have the latest version, and am using Windows XP. I never had this problem before. Also, whenever I try to "create new score" on the new version and the last one, it wouldn't display the measures no matter what for some reason. Not sure if these problems are related or I'm just an idiot or what's going on.

It's WindowsXP and Musescore version 1.2 and Revision: 5470

Hmmm - the first thing is to try opening up the Edit Preferences dialogue and use the "Reset to factory defaults" button.
If that doesn't do the trick, then we'll need to establish what is going wrong with your particular setup.
I'm using the exact same configuration - Windows XP Pro SP3 with MuseScore 1.2 R5470 and everything is fine, so if the Factory defaults doesn't fix it then there is something peculiar to your system that we will need to track down.

I just tried what you said and it still didn't do anything... I'm gonna maybe try reinstalling it. Hopefully that will work!
