Paste causes crash

Using a score with 5 instruments on the staff, I inserted 16 bars at a point in the middle of the score.
I then marked and copied 16 measures of all 5 instruments from elsewhere in the score. Selected the whole note at the top of the insertion point, and hit paste, and crash. Program hung up. Had to kill it with Task Manager.

Running WinXP64, latest patches.

The error appears when pasting even a single measure, not cross staff pasting only, but only if the measure has notes entered into it. Pasting an empty measure does not crash.
