Triplet in voice 2 does not match up with quarter note in voice 1
Hi,
I'm having trouble getting a triplet rhythm in voice 2 line up with a quarter note in voice 1. Ideally the second and third quarter notes wouldn't be staggered - they would overlap with the first note in the tuplet as is the case on beat 1. But for some reason it's staggered on the other two beats. Can anyone help with this? Thanks!
Using Musescore 1.2 under Ubuntu.

Not sure how you did that. I added another measure to your score and try to reproduce without success.

Right - thanks for that. I copied and pasted from a line that was from a MusicXML import. I should have just erased it and started from scratch. Sometimes Musescore does some funky things with MusicXML imports!

Please report a bug if a MusicXML file imports incorrectly. We depend on bug reports to find and fix the corner cases.
Copying the first measure in MuscScore copies the offsets but entering a fresh measure doesn't so it looks like the offsets might be in the original XML file.. On looking at the XML for your measure and for a measure that I entered I see that your measure has a lot of statements which cause offset of the first notes of the tuplets. If you have the original XML file it would be interesting to look at it as there are several possibilities:
1) MuseScore is incorrectly adding offsets (possible, but why?).
2) The original XML file has offsets but maybe some other program isn't displaying the notes as such.

I'm trying to import a file over from Sibelius using musicXML so the hiccoughs might be coming from either program.
Basically whenever there's a triplet/tuplet in one voice and straight notes in another voice, it makes corrupt measures when opened in MuseScore.
Here's the MusicXML file and the PDF of what it's supposed to look like!

The file definitely does not import correctly into MuseScore, note timing and measure length are incorrect. I suspect this is caused by rounding errors in the timing calculations, as the file contains triplets but uses a divisions value (256) that cannot be divided by 3.
As our competition (tested using Finale NotePad 2012 and Sibelius 6) imports this file without problems, I consider it a MuseScore problem and created issue #17654: [MusicXML] import error Sibelius 7.1.2 file with triplets and multiple voices.

Good stuff - thanks!

Triplet alignment issue is solved in the trunk 572e78b. If you care to verify it, you may want to try one of the nightly builds.
I still need to fix an issue where the double dotted half note in the first measure incorrectly gets a duration of 15/16. The other measures import correctly now.

Issue with first measure also fixed.
