As in the title, when I import a piano (player piano roll) MIDI file, it only creates a treble clef showing the bass notes as very low notes on the treble clef.
Is it supposed to do that ? Or should it create a treble and bass clefs ?

Thank you in advance for any clarifications,
Duaine

If the MIDI file was created with seaprate tracks, then it will import with two staves. Apparently your MIDI was created with only a single track. If it's not possible to get a better MIDI file with parts seaprated into two tracks, you can try the "split staff" feature in MuseScore. It can't literally know which notes were played in which hand, but it can at least put all low nites in one staff and high notes in another, based on a predefined split point. Then you can go from there figuring out if there is stuff you'd rather see moved.

Do realize that importing from MIDI is roughly like scanning a handwritten document into a word processor - it can kind of sort of get you somewhere, but almost invariably will require a lot of hand editing to turn into anyhting useful.

It is always advisable to examine any MIDI file in sequencing software before attempting to import it inot MuseScore.

This enables you to see if the file needs processing at all before import.

In your case, the file needed splitting into 2 tracks - one for each hand.

Very often quantisation will also need to be done otherwise you will end up with a mess of ties and short duration rests.
