Mixer and Play Panel
I have been using Musescore for some time but find today, that I am unable to display the Mixer and Play Panels. I recently installed Magix Samplitude Music Studio on my Windows 7 system and wonder if there is a conflict somewhere. Any ideas anyone??

Possibly you moved them off the screen by accident, perhaps when switching between different monitors in a multi-monitor setup.
Try reverting to factory settings: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/revert-factory-settings

Thanks. I had already tried repair, then uninstalled and reinstalled the software. I tried the reset but this is effectively the same as re install. Still doesn't work. I have two monitors and the missing panels are no where in sight.

OK, so now I shut the program down, restarted and opened a new score. All seems to be working now. Existing scores work as well. Seems like the reset worked. It also cleared out the list of recent files so I guess that worked. Many thanks.

You're welcome!
I believe the window positions are stored in MuseScore's preference file, which would need to be deleted to restore them to the default positions. Reverting to factory settings does this, but I don't think that uninstalling and re-installing would, nor would a repair install.

Running https://musescore.org/project/resetdialogpositions resets those values in the preferences file without losing all other settings

And in windows you can take an action to open the missing window,
press alt-spacebar
m
any arrow
move mouse
If you use shortcuts like I do, you may need to do it twice since F11 toggles the play window
