Renaming Soundfonts in Mixer?
I'm using Musescore 2.0, and am having a problem with imported soundfonts. In the Mixer, my soundfonts are all titled things like, 'Unnamed Instrument 8,' 'Unnamed Instrument 12,' 'Unnamed Instrument 10,' ectetera and ectetera. I'd like to change these names to actually reflect what the instruments are, but I can't figure out how. Could someone help me out?

That isn't the soundfont, but the part name, stemming from some import, I guess. Right click every staff, staff properties, and change the names there

Or better still, in the staff properties use the change instrument button and change the instrument to what it already is. This will update everything like you added it from scratch.

See #4954: Change instrument via staff properties doesn't affect clef

I've tried changing the part name, but the names on the Mixer are still the same. Those names are classified as 'sound,' not 'instrument,' if that's any help.

Please share the score, so we can have a look rather than having to guess

Instead of 'Klang,' it says 'sound,' and where it says 'Yamaha Grand Piano' and 'Legend EP 2,' it says 'Unnamed Instrument #xx.'
I want to change the name of the klang/sound soundfonts.

Which SoundFont do you use?
The names are directly from SF.

can you see any soundfont (fluid tab)
which?
If you have a sound font: (possibly: FluidR3mono_GM.sf3)

I have. My problem is that none of those sounds are called what I want them to be called. They're all 'Unnamed Instrument' and I want to change their names. I have no issue getting to them.

The names there can not be changed.
If you're using a custom SoundFont, you can do it with SoundFont editors like PolyPhone or Viena.
MuseScore only retrieves and displays the names that are there.

For me it sounds the reason is your installed soundfont. Are you using FluidR3Mono_GM.sf2 or FluidR3Mono_GM.sf3? Or if you're using another soundfont, which one? Not really familar with soundfonts in this case I'm not sure if it's changeable.
Fixed. Thank you guys so much for your help!

And you're not telling us how the problem is solved?
My apologies. I took Ziya Mete Demircan's suggestion and renamed the soundfonts in Polyphone. That seemed to work, and they all have the names I want them to have.

Thank You....
It seems that you used a special SoundFont, not the default SoundFont in MuseScore.
So the instruments in your SoundFont are not properly named.
Now, we are enlightened.
