Lead sheets & rhythm notation/slashes

Hi, I have a couple of questions.

I am currently writing out lead sheets. I'd like to put some rhythm notation in above chord symbols or in the score, to notate a couple of bass lines in places. Is this possible?

Also, how do I fill a bar with rhythmic slashes as shown in the handbook when describing chord symbols?
