Palettes are too small!
I don't know HOW to explain this, but I'll try. I opened my MuseScore and found that the print is way too small. It's probably 3-4 pica or smaller. The note values are too small as well. I can't see to determine which note value to select. I have to use my keyboard. When I look for clefs, key sig., lines, etc. I can't see them well enough to use them. I don't know if this is a setting or a "bug." Thanks for any help with this issue!

I also experienced the issue you describe: https://musescore.org/en/node/154591
Do you happen to use an external monitor?

An external monitor? YES! I have a 40" Toshiba TV as my monitor because I'm visually impaired. That's why the extremely small items are disturbing and frustrating. It keeps me from having any composing done.

Yes, TV sets are know to cause this issue
Sounds like this will be fixed in 2.1?
In the mean time, in custom workspaces you can change the minimum pixel sizes and scale of the items in the palette. Right click the palette name and select palette properties.

I "right clicked" the palette item and it appears GRAYED out. The only thing it's allowing me to do is to "Save Palette." Any other options?

At the bottom of the palettes it says either basic or advanced. Click the plus next to it and you can create a custom workspace. https://musescore.org/en/handbook/palette#custom-workspace
You can keep your most commonly used, or even all of the palettes, here and adjust their sizes.
There are a few systems that see this problem, but we don't yet fully understand why it happens. Generally, what seems to be happening is that for whatever, the computer is not correctly telling MuseScore the correct resolution of your monitor. This can happen if there is something unusual about how it is connected. The workaround for now is to start from the command line with the "-2 scaling-factor" option. Use a value for scaling-factor like 2 to make things twice as big as normal, etc. It won't necessarily affect everything that is off, but it should help. For 2.1, there will be a new option that works better - "-D DPI", where you'd enter your monitor's actual DPI value (eg, 300).

What do you mean by, "start from the command line with the '-2 scaling-factor' option." Is there a command line within MuseScore?

Not within MuseScore, but within the OS you're using. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/command-line-options-0

I decided to Revert to Factory Settings. It didn't resolve the issue. I'm not familiar with the command line on my Win. 10. Do you know where I can get to it? Once there, do I just start typing command line option you've provided?
In reply to I decided to Revert to by b2sing4u
See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/revert-factory-settings#instructions-… and replace the -F with -x2 or -D100 (available as of 2.1) or whatever option and value is appropriate

Hi Marc,
I tried entering a command prompt to resolve these issues with the palette text on a TV monitor using the suggestions from here (https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/command-line-options#Convert_a_scor…), but it is saying that "'MuseScore3.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." I am running the program on a Windows 10 computer. I also tried the other program names listed for the other OS options, bu those brought up the same message. Any idea what could be causing this?

Also, as you are typing in any commands be sure to pay attention to proper syntax, by making sure to include spaces, punctuation, etc. exactly as described.
(Computers are sticklers for such details.)
EDIT: "punctuation" now spelled correctly. ;-)
I Reset to Factory Settings...this did not correct the size issue. Fortunately, I was able to enlarge the fonts and symbols in the palette by creating New Palette. Unfortunately, I don't know HOW TO enlarge the fonts of note values, create new score, and playback on the dashboard, etc. Can anyone help?

see above, instead of -F for factory reset use -x2 or, in 2.1, -D100

.
I was able to use " -x1" instead of "-x2" and it worked for me. Thank you, my friends!
i have found a very quick and dirty fix.
when you go to open musescore, unplug the monitor input cable, then (without moving the mouse) double click. the screen will have no input but the computer will be opening musescore. after about a minute, plug the monitor back in. musescore will be open with normal sized palettes.
