Playing keyboard automatically activates note edit mode
Musescore is great! I recommend it to everyone I know. One thing eludes me though: Is there any way to play my midi keyboard (and hear soundfonts) without it entering notes into the score?

Toggle the MIDI input icon in the toolbar.

Hmm...doesn't work for me. Toggling the midi input icon kills the soundfont as well (vista 64, r1897, usb keyboard). Any ideas?

Either my expectation is up in the night or something is not working right.
With the midi input icon enabled I get
- Soundfont sounds when keyboard keys are pressed (as expected)
- Notes entered into score (as expected)
With the midi input icon disabled I get:
- No notes input into score (as expected)
- No soundfont sounds when keyboard keys are pressed (THIS IS NOT AS I EXPECT)
Is this what everyone else gets? I'd appreciate any feedback.

For me, it's as I expect it. When Midi input input icon is disabled, midi input is disabled.
