Play option

I have had Musescore for quite a while now. However, recently I bought a new computer. In downloading Musescore again, I seem to have lost an ability. Whether this be from user error, or from the download, I can't play anything I have written. The play, loop, and restart buttons are greyed out granting me no ability to use them. Using hotkeys doesn't work either. I wasn't sure if I simply have to adjust a setting, or if something was wrong with the download/update. I am hoping for any help soon, thank you for reading this.
