Is it possible you were using a special 64-bit build? Some MIDI drivers apparently won't work with 32-bit applications.

I repeat Marc's question: have you been using the (unsupported) 64-bit Version of MuseScore 2.0.3 before?

no i have been using 32 bit version of Musescore 2.03 installed in program files {X86}
I'm checking out the new 2.1 version on Mac OS and do not see where/how you activate the Real-time note entry. I have read the manual and have flipped through all the menus only to not find anything related to REAL-TIME. I have attached two pictures of me tool ribbon: one as normal and the other with the notes menu dropped down.

The dropdown is on the "N" icon at left of the toolbar.

No one has added that section to the handbook. I didn't because I don't have the ability to use it.Shoogle updated the handbook in the last hours so the new input modes should be included.
