Measure and staff
All new score opened with 16 measures, and I couldn't figure
out how to change to 4 or 8. Another thing is, when I use the default "my
first score", I couldn't extend to a new page (page 2 or 3), when I need to
add more staff.

The new score wizzard asks how many measures you want (and defaults to32, as far as I remember).
You can add more measures anytime

Thank you for your quick response, really appreciated. But my problem is, when I put more measures (as I need), it will be automatically squeeze in one page, making a each staff may have 16 or more measures. What I want is most of the time, 4 or 8 measures, say for a 120 measures, it will have 3-4 pages.etc. Hopefully you could help.....

Then add system breaks, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/breaks-and-spacers and also https://musescore.org/en/handbook/tools#line-breaks

It might squeeze them onto one page at firs,t because they are empty. But they automatically space themselves as appropriate for the music as you add notes. So in most cases, you should *not* be adding explicit line breaks to artificially force a given number of measures per line. Except in a very specific cases (eg, leadsheets, music for children, educational examples, etc) it is more correct to let the number of measures per line vary according to how full the measures are, and MuseScore already does the correct thing automatically. But for those special exceptions, indeed, line breaks are the way to do it.
You can delete measures: select them and use ctrl/delete.
You can add measures: See "add" at the top of the window.
You can set the number when making a new score as noted above.
