split bar to next line
I was wondering if there's a faster way to accomplish what I'm doing with splitting a bar at the end of a phrase. Sorry if there's already a thread, but I tried searching bar splits and didn't find any. Let's say the song "America, the Beautiful", which is in 4/4. At the last bar of the first line it should have 3 beats, and the 4th beat is the pickup measure for the next line. What I've been doing is changing the time signatures to 3/4, 1/4, and then adding a 4/4 to continue the songs, deleting the extra 1/4 bars, and making those time signatures invisible. If the bar is not split, then the first word of the second line, "for", stays on the first line.
I'm attaching the mscz file, the PDF generated, and a sample of not splitting the bar.
Thanks.
