Pantom beams
I have a score, which in one bar has generated a spare beam, not attached to any notes. I can move the beam from one end only. I can't delete it and I can see anything that's missing its beam.
What's causing this and how do I get rid of it?
A screenshot is attached. Note I have marked these phantom beams as invisible.

Since you didn't upload the file so someone can see what's really going on, I'm going to guess you made this file in version 1.x. The last note on the same line has a beam that is supposed to be connected to the first note on the next line. This was a know bug in version 1.x and was fixed in some version 2.0.x.
This score was created under 2.0.3. I can upload the file tomorrow. 2:30am now. Need sleep!
I think you're right about this being the result of a beam across a bar line in which the two measures are on different systems, and unfortunately the bug in question is *not* fixed yet. Right now we just don't support beams across systems, and this glitch is what results.

That's a good clue. In this pice there are lots of cross-bar beams. That would explain why I don't see this in continuous view mode. Let me check to see whether a beam occurs at the end of line.

That suggestion checks out: the beams were across the bar at the end of the line. The notes appeared on the new line without beams and their beam appeared at the beginning of the old line. Now I know where to look then I see this, it's easily dealt with by manually inserting a line break at an appropriate place.
