create new keyboard shortcut
hello,
wondering whether there is a way to create a new keyboard shortcut for an item that doesn't appear in the list of shortcuts in preferences.
I am transcribing an opera aria with text in Italian and there are a billion elisions! the ability to create a shortcut for the narrow elision would be huge.
I tried copy/paste as a workaround but that results in the insertion of the code text for the elision rather than the elision itself.
thank you in advance for any feedback/assistance!
regards,
stephen

You can't make a shortcut for anything not in the list in preferences :(
What you can do is make a custom palette that includes it. Select several notes and double click the item you want to apply to all of them at once.

Thanks for this!! I did it, and it's not a shortcut but helped a lot!!!!
If you are on windows there are several "tie below" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tie_(typography) in unicode, so you should be able to use Alt+code to enter them http://www.fileformat.info/tip/microsoft/enter_unicode.htm
