where are custom pallets stored?
I can't seem to find in Handbook where custom patters are stored?
I ask, cause, am going to upgrade to latest ver, but I want it onto D drive. Should be easy to do, but then I want to copy/paste my old custom pallet.
Same thing with all old scores, but I know how to copy/paste these onto D.
BTW, am on a Win7 PC.

Hand Book---Palettes--Palette MENUE
Right click on the name of the Palette-----save palette in a .mpal file

so after saving as an .mpal (which I do not see in Handbook, I just looked)
where in file structure do I copy/restore it in my new install of MuseScore?
or which "preference" path holds these customizations?

I see it in the handbook here:

There is both a "save palette" and a "load palette" option.
Save your palette-file anywhere you want, and then restore/load it from the same folder.
They're stored in Local AppData: C:\Users\[yourUsernameHere]\AppData\Local\MuseScore\MuseScore2
That path doesn't change if you install MuseScore elsewhere. So you can just install to wherever you like, and it should still be using the same files.

And, if needed, the workspaces

Hmmmmmm.
I am assuming that I can change any/all ancillary storage paths using the "preferences."
Is this not correct?
My goal is to have only Windows components on the C drive.

Well, those files will be in %LOCALAPPDATA%\MuseScore\MuseScore2 (plus %LOCALAPPDATA%\Roaming\MuseScore\MuseScore2.ini), whereever %LOCALAPPDATA% is on your System
If you don't want to stroe any of These on your hard disk, use the portable app and a USB thumb drive
