Releasing tuplets
I am using MuseScore 2.1 on a Mac. I've imported a PDF, and it's in the "cut time" time signature. It's a fiddle tune, and most of the measures contain 8 eighth notes. But some measures imported for some reason with the whole measure being a sextuplet with an added quarter note rest. This is not what I want, so I would like to know if there is a way to release the sextuplet, delete the rest that shouldn't be there, and make those measures be normal measures with 8 eighth notes, as they should be. I guess this is an artifact of importing the PDF file, or a bug in the conversion. Is this possible to do?
thanks,
Jack C

Right-click on the measure, Bar Properties, what's in the 'Actual' Bar Duration?
Could you attach here your score?
use the "File attachments" option at the bottom of the page, just above the Save and Preview buttons when you're typing your post. Click on 'File attachments' it will become browse

The actual bar duration reads as 2/2, which is correct for the score. I'm going to just delete and re-enter notes. Thanks, though.

In general, though, no, you can't change a passage from being sextuplets to ordinary eighth notes aside from deleting the notes and re-entering them (first making sure to set the measure to have 4 beats as explained above). The software that attempts to make sense out of a PDF and turn it into usable music is extremely experimental, it will produce not so good results very often, so you can just expect to see this sort of thing.

That's kind of what I thought; I figured it was a PDF conversion thing. There are several measures like this, so I guess I'm going to just have to delete and re-enter the notes. Not a big problem, just wondering it there was a MuseScore solution. Thanks for your help.
