Do you mean like a second alternate chord written above the main chord? RIght now, best way is to leave chord entry mode, click the chord you'd like to attach an alternate to, hit Ctrl-K, and enter the new chord - you'll now have two chords attached to the same note. You can then position them manually as you like. I believe Tony has done some development very recently in this area for 2.0 (like, within the past few days), not sure if/when it might make it into the nightly builds. I believe it will also handle parentheses around optional chords.
