Time signature

I would like to use the program to create and copy Orthodox chant for use in the Church.

However, as Chant is not necessarily confined to a certain number of notes, as the pattern my repeat notes according the needs of the text.

I am asking is it possible to treat each measure as if there is no time signature>

Either start with a really big time signature and use split measure commands, or start with normal sized measures and join them, or go into each measure properties and change the actual duration of it.

I prefer the first. Then also go into the staff properties to turn off the display of the time signature.
