Lyrics location

Lyrics always seem to be placed below the stave.

I'm setting music for 4 parts and really need the tenor/bass lyrics to be above the lower stave and not below. What I've been doing is the enter the lyrics as normal, increase the distance between the two staves and then moving the block of lyrics to a position above the stave.

Is there a better way of doing this?
