complicated repeat patterns

Can a musical piece have more complicated repeat patterns like:
[: … ͞ :] [: … [: … ͞ :] … [: … ͞ :] :] [: … ͞ :] …
where repeats are nested?

Nesting repeats is an extremely bad idea. It might be clear to you what is meant, but the person reading won't be able to sort out which repeat goes where. Nor will MuseScore in its playback. Just writw out the inner repeat, or otherwise restructure things to not require nested repeats.

True, but since the primary purpose of MuseScore is creating printed music for human musicians to read, it would be misleading for MuseScore to "understand" somethng real musicans would not. People would be fooled into creating unreadable scores. It's easy enough to do that as it is; we don't need to go out of our way to make it even easier to create unreadable scores.

Sorry, I apologize for writing my score for only myself,
which is what I was really doing. The nested repeats save me
pages of confusing paper, and a couple of words will point
out the repeat. But I can still write it that way even if
I can't get MuseScore to play it. The repeats also reduce the
risk of more writing errors. And I am lucky to live in the
age of MuseScore which is a pioneer. Thanks.
And if I want to rewrite it for others, I can use a lot of
copy and paste.
