'Staff distance' changes only affect part of score, for some reason.

Hi.
Sorry if this has been addressed before; search results didn't turn up anything helpful.

I'm trying to modify the distance between staves (ie, Vocal and Piano), but when I make changes in Display => Edit General Style => Page => Staff Distance, the changes I make only get applied to measures without lyrics.

Why would this be? I tried Selecting All, I tried making sure nothing was selected, I tried selecting only one bar, but nothing seems to work. I've tried this before with measures with lyrics, and had no issues. I can't figure out what I'm doing differently.

I'm at a loss, folks. Please help.

Best to post the score. It may be margins, number of staves, a few things. There must not be room somehow for what you're trying to do. You could try breaking a page 1 system earlier and see if that frees it up.

I think I figured out the issue: I needed to adjust the Lyrics Lower Margin setting. I guess it was protecting that space at the expense of the Staff Distance.

There's something to be said about playing with random stuff, I guess. *rolleyes*
