dotted (dashed) slurs

• Aug 22, 2013 - 18:30

I've put in some dotted slurs but I notice the dots are so tight together than they can barely be distinguished from regular (solid) slurs when I print out the score.

Is there a way to make the dots of the dotted slurs spaced more widely? Or can a different kind of dotted (dashed) line be chosen?

Thanks,
Josh

To answer your question, no there is no way to define your own spacing for slur dots in MuseScore 1.3. On a PDF, dotted slurs do look good.

I am also having this problem - when a typeset score or part is printed, dashed slurs are practically indistinguishable from normal slurs. The only other way to show an editorial slur is to manually place brackets around it, which is tedious to say the least. For the typesets I am making, the performer MUST know what was in the manuscript source, and what was added (by analogy) by the editor. There have been a few problems caused by this during rehearsals and so I hope there will be a solution to this in the future.
