Key Signature Bug?
Having a problem with one piece of music I wrote. Whichever key signature I drag to it, one less sharp or one more flat appears on the stave. For example, if I drag A Major to the stave, two sharps appear on the stave and at the bottom of the screen I am told it is D Major. This happens with all key signatures. For example if I drag G Major across, all the sharps disappear and I am left in C. The opposite happens with the flats, if I drag F Major across, 2 flats appear and I am in Bb.
I tested it with other pieces of music I wrote and it doesn't happen. Only this piece, which works fine otherwise.
Any ideas?

I guess you're write for a transposing instrument

So use the concert pitch key signature.
Indeed, almost certainly you are writing for a transposing instrument like alto flute. If so, that's perfectly normal/correct - if you want an alto flute to play a note that sounds like A, you need to write a D. If you aren't familiar with this concept, you might want to read up on transposing instruments (eg, on Wikipedia) to learn how the system works. Then once you understand the system better, you can better figure out how to deal with it in MuseScore. That is, if you know you want a *written* A for alto flute, then go ahead and enter the A with Concert Pitch *off*. But if you want a *sounding* A, turn Concert Pitch *on*, enter your music, then turn it off again when you're done to have MsueScore automatically transpose it for you.

Yes, that's correct. It's transposition, thanks for the replies.
