Articulations and Dynamics Won't Work in Transfered .XML

I have a bunch of music from a different program of mine that I wanted to put into MuseScore to edit. I exported them all as .xml files and then opened them in MuseScore. Even though it said it wasn't entirely compatible it still put all of my notes in and most of my articulations. However, when I played it back in MuseScore, none of the articulations or dynamics worked. I even deleted all of them and then replaced them, but that didn't work either. I know my program works because I opened a new blank sheet and the articulations and dynamics worked in that one. Does anyone know what the issue is and how to fix it? I really don't want to have to rewrite all the pieces in MuseScore if I don't have to. Thank you!
