Lines for endings
I have put a line ending "1." on a measure and line ending "2." that has no vertical at the end on the next measure. How do I change the "1." to "1., 2." and the "2." to "3."?

Right click on the volta, then under 'Volta Properties', you can change the text from "1." or "2." to whatever you want; and also change the number on the 'Repeat list'.
Additionally, under 'Line Properties' you can delete (or add) the 'End Hook'.

But FWIW, normal notational practice is to only use the hook for endings that truly *end* at that point - which is to say, ones terminated by a closing repeat sign. The final ending should *not* normally have a hook, because it does not in fact end - it continues on to the next measure. It is true that some publishers will arbitrarily add hooks anyhow even though there is no true ending, maybe to show conceptually where the next musical idea begins. It's kind of customary to do this to avoid any possible confusion when the next section starts with an open repeat. Or if the second ending is the last measure of the piece. Anyhow, note MuseScore provides both versions of the sign in the palette, but you can indeed change one into the other as mentioned above.
