Instruments not catered for currently in Musescore
There are a number of instruments not currently catered for in Musescore.
1) Lupophone - the Baritone member of the Oboe family very thick and heavy sound - a third lower than the Heckelphone. Becoming much more commonly used in recent years.
2) Violino Piccolo - smaller than a standard violin, but with a sweeter sound especially in the higer range. Widely used during the Baroque period - including by JS Bach and Fuchs Had two standard tunings. From the B flat below Middle C with four strings tuned in fifths like a standard violin, or tuned from Middle C in fifths - either Bflat, F, C, and G or C, G, D, A. Now being revived in recent years.
3) Guitars (classical) Various new pitches have been added, making the Guitar into a family. One of thses is the Contrabass. Standard guitar tuning, but an octave lower. There are also guitars tuned higher than the standard Guitar (Prime) - and these are usually referred to as Alto Guitars, and can be tuned a third, fourth or fifth higher than the standard/Prime Guitar. Usually referred to as Terz, Quart, or Quint. And finally there is the Treble/Soprano/Octave guitar, tuned one Octave above the Prime. I hope you will have a look at these instrument requests. 2) Lupophone - Long name Lupophone, short name Lu. closest GM sound - Heckelphone, Amateur range F2 - F5 Proffessional range F2 - C6 Transposition - written as Oboe from B flat (??)
3) Contrabass Guitar (Classical) Long name Contrabass Guitar Short name Cb. Gui. Closest GM sound Guitar Amateur range E1 - E4 Proffesional range E1 B4
4) Alto Guitar (classical) Long name Alto Guitar Alternative name - Requinto, closest GM sound Guitar (classical) Short name A. Gui Tuning - as standard guitar but a fourth or fifth (sometimes a third) higher than standard Taking A. Gui as a 4th above standard gui. we get - Amateur range A2 - A5 or proffesional range A2 - E6 with alternative tunings a 3rd above standard gui. we get bottom note G2, and with a fifth higher we get bottom note B2.
5) Octave Guitar (classical) Also known as Soprano or Treble. One octave above standard Gui. Long name Octave Guitar short name O. Gui. Closest GM sound - Guitar (classical) Tuning one Octave above standard guitar. Amateur range E3 - E6 Proffessional E3 - B6
All of the Guitars above are six stringed instruments tuned as a standard guitar from thier lowest note - with the same intervals between. Transpotioning for all these guitars are as written for a standard guitar, with Treble Clef, with bottom note being an E, whether or not this is actually the case. Contrabass therefore transposes 2 Octaves, and Alto Guitar transposes either a third, fourth or a fith. and the Octave is at written pitch.

Not sure about Tab, as I am pretty sure they only exist in the classical versions (exepting the Contrabass, which exists in electric form as electric bass guitar) so I am thinking that Tab is not used by these Guitars, although as they are written the same as the standard guitar, the Tab would be the same. Perhaps googling these instruments would give you a bit more info on them too. And also an example of how they sound in real life. With thanks. I am looking forward to being able to play around with these instruments and being able to put them into my future scores.
