Using digital piano to input notes in Musescore?
I'm not sure which AB type USB cable should I buy 'cause that's the one indicated in the Yamaha manual. If I bought one, would it allow note entry from the digital piano to Musescore? And what preferences in Musescore should I use?
Keyboard - Yamaha DGX-530 Digital Piano (2008)
Software - Yamaha USB midi driver for Windows (64bit; latest)
OS - Windows 7 (Basic)
Musescore - MS (v1.3)
Cable - AB type USB cable (not yet bought)

Welcome aboard.
The AB type USB cable is the same type used on many USB printers - you may already have a cable from some old hardware. In any event, you can try your printer USB cable if it has the standard A B connectors (not mini or micro).

Once your computer recognizes the keyboard (i.e. driver installed, piano connected and turned on), start MuseScore, click on a rest in your score, and enter a note with the keyboard.

If you have any problems, return here and post again.

When you say MuseScore is "configurated", do you mean you read the Handbook on note input and have performed all the steps described there? In particular, you have connected, plugged in, and turned on your keyboard before starting MuseScore, and you have switched MuseScore to note input mode, you have selected a duration, and played and released a single note but it does not show up?
