The short answer to this is not yet...
The current thinking on the part of the development team is that support for virtual synths including VSTi is desirable but will not happen for the next release.
There is greatly improved soundfont support coming in the next major release, however, so you should find it easier to use better sounds in MuseScore 2 when it arrives.
We are also working on a series of "approved" soundfonts which it will be possible to download direct from the Musescore download server.
If you really want VSTi, you could try using Jack to link MuseScore with VST host. It could work for simple scores. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgHamEhVbCM and http://musescore.org/node/3267
