Multimeasure rests from already input measures...
I cannot seem to understand the multimeasure rest pages in the handbook. I had seen that I should input my notes first and did so--including the multiple measures of rests thinking I could convert selected rest measures to a multimeasure rest. That no longer seems the case! Can any one direct me on how to combine sequential measures of rest into a single multimeasure rest? My doc is attached to show what I mean. Best and thank you, Mike

If you haven't changed the default shortcut, press M to toggle multimeasure rests

Thanks very much jeetee. When I do press M, I get the attached. My desire is, starting with measure 1, to have subsequent multimeasure rests of 3, 8 and 8 bars before measure 20. How can I make that adjustment to what appear as 3 and 16? Thanks again, M

Delete multimeasure rests (M), and, select measure 12 (the first of the second 8 you want). When selected, right click, measure proprieties find something like "divise multimeasure rests" click it (I'm French). When done, re-put multimeasure rests by M.

Thank you Raymond and Jojo. It also became clear that I had text (or objects) attached to measures that were preventing a clean count of the multiple measures. Thanks to all for your assistance--I am grateful. Best, Mike
