Latest Musescore 3.0 Nightlies for Mac will not open: "damaged"

The latest 3.0 nightly for MacOS, e65a269, as well as the nightlies from August 2 and 3, and possibly others, will not open on my Macbook Pro running OS 10.11.6. Even after "reverting to factory settings" (by running from terminal using -F), when I attempt to launch in the normal fashion, I get the message "MuseScoreNightly is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash". This occurs while the "verifying MusescoreNightly" window is active. I CAN open successfully from terminal (by running the mscore command); that doesn't invoke the "verifying" window. Perhaps there is a checksum error?
