Trying To Create Short Musical Examples
Here's what I'm trying to do. I'd like to write out a few finger exercises, 9 notes to a measure for the first one, C to G and descending back to C. Then I'd like to notate some variations. I'd also like to notate major and minor scales in all keys, with solid note heads and no stems, as you'd see in any method book. I've tried creating a blank template, but can't progress past the setup stage, where a time signature must be indicated. I don't need a time signature, and would prefer not to have it displayed, although I would like the bass or treble clef to show as needed. Is there something in the manual that describes a process such as this? Any suggestions for a work-around, if necessary? This is only for my personal use, as I'm adapting various sources for my own purposes. I'd really appreciate any help you folks might offer, or simply steering me in a direction where I can "learn to fish" on my own, so to speak. Thank you.

To get rid of the time sig , delete the first measure (Ctrl-Del), to get rid of stems, select a note, right-click, seletc all similar, right.click a note, note properties, stemless. To fit n quarters into a 4/4 measure, right.click into the measure, measure properties, actual duration...

I'm using a Mac, no right click; this still has to be pretty easy, no?

Get a proper computer :-)
A quick Google search indicates ctrl-click shoud work on a Mac

I think Ctrl+click is the Mac equivalent.

... it would have taken me years, if ever, to figure that out on my own.
