How to change tempo AFTER putting in wrong one
I originally put in wrong tempo thinking it would be easy to change later. WRONG!
Search talked about INSPECTOR [my inspector always comes up empty, nothing about tempo, or following text or anything]
I need absolute step by step instructions, because following the steps found in SEARCH didn't get anything mentioned in the SEARCH.

You need to click the tempo text to see the following text box in the inspector. If you have the inspector open and click the tempo, it will immediate display tempo options. If the inspector is not open when you click the tempo text, then open the inspector and you will see the options.
If you entered a tempo such as 120 BPM from the new score wizard, you will see a quarter note followed by an equal sign and 120. You can double click this text and change the 120 to almost anything you want the tempo to be. You can actually uncheck the following tempo and change the tempo to whatever you want, but it would be ill advised and deceptive because the display will still be 120.

The tempo text is what appears above the top staff when a tempo is entered. If you use a palette to enter a tempo (from the tempo palette), it will always appear above the top staff. It will consist of a note and = sign and 80. If you enter a tempo in the new score wizard, it will appear as a 1/4 note = and the tempo you enter. This text is bold black. If you entered it from the new score it will always be above the first measure. If you use a palette it will be above the measure or note selected when you enter it.
In the above screen shot, I have changed the tempo to read Animato. Notice in the inspector the the bold words that say "Tempo Marking" I have unchecked the Follow Text and entered my tempo of 80.0BPM. Notice also that Animato is blue rather than black, because that is what I currently have selected.

Apologies for responding to myself. But I think I got it changed. Turn on Inspector, which comes up blank. Go to the FIRST quarter note in the music, click on it. Go to ADD, Text, Tempo Marking. Edit from =80 to =60 and tempo plays slower, almost right, but easily edits that now. Still found no "tempo text"

I used the word "Tempo Text" to distiguish it from "Staff Text" or "System Text" the inspector actually calls it "Tempo Marking"
