Tab note change not playing.
Just been entering some tab (ukulele) and noticed that if I change a previously entered note it does not play.

It works as expected here: uke.mscz
How are you doing exactly? (mouse, keyboard, Note entry mode, or not?)
See: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/tablature#edit-notes
If the trouble persists, please attach your score.

If I'm in Note edit mode and I change a note previously entered (say fret 2) to fret 3 by use of the number keypad no note is heard whereas if I change it in the score the new note is heard.

Okay, I understand now. In Note input mode, indeed, by retyping a fret, the new one is not heard.
And I do not remember, maybe (?), that someone raised this question. I'm so accustomed to it that I'm not paying attention anymore! I do not recall if there is an explanation (or, even, be considered as an issue?)
You can hear the new note/fret by using Alt + Shift + arrow keys (Up / Down), but with a certain limitation: because, eg, by using Alt + Shift + Up for change fret 5 instead of 4 on the second string, it will take you to the first open string (0)
(except of course if there is already a note on this first string)
