when i start up the program for some reason my audio jack cuts out and my laptop speakers turn on and external speakers turn off. i've already tried to configure my sound functions in my computer and nothing is working, everything on my laptop goes back to normal when i turn off the program. if you want screen shots of anything just tell me how

Most relevant info to know would be what version of MuseScore and what OS. Also, the settings you see in Edit / Preferences / I/O. You can also try Help / Revert to Factory Settings to see if that improves the situation.
