What if it's crossing staves and you want one part of the bracket flipped the opposite way?

Hoping you don't have a bunch to do. Steps are shown in the image.
Beginning with your triplet...
1. In the Inspector set 'number type' and 'bracket type' to 'none'
2. Use menu item: Add > Note Anchored Line, set thickness to .10sp in the Inspector
3. Add 'Begin hook' and set to 90°, height set to -0.75sp
4. Add 'Begin text' to '3' and set font size and italicize, set offset
5. Add a second note anchored line
6. Add 'End hook' and set to 90°, height set to 0.75

At step 1., it may be easier to make the original invisible and use it for a 'template'.
You can overlay the corrected bracket on top of the 'template', then use the view menu to completely hide the invisible one, if desired.
