Time Sig edit possible bug

• Feb 23, 2018 - 11:21

A minor possible bug - when I try to change the "cut time" symbol (that is the one like C with a line through it) to 2/2 (just because I prefer it) I always have to do it twice. Not a serious problem but odd. I'm not asking for a solution, just logging it.
Version 2.1.0 rev 871c8ce on Linux KDE.

Background: I do a lot of importing from abc and often change 4/4 to 2/2 via cut time.

Odd. I see this too, not sure why. To be clear: you are right-clicking an existing cut time in the score, then changing its properties. This wouldn't normally be the way to do what you want, but I can confirm if you try doing this, it doesn't work as it should. I think that's because the initial time signature at the beginning of a score is special in some ways. It works as expected for time signature changes mid-score. Not sure exactly what is going on, but worth submitting officially to the issue tracker as a bug (eg, using Help / Report a Bug from within MuseScore).

The way normal to get 2/2, though, would be to simply create a 2/2 time signature in the time signature palette as described in the Handbook under "Time signatures", and then add that to your score whenever you want, rather than adding cut time then trying to change it.
