Accidentals/beams layout problem

• May 6, 2018 - 23:11

Hi. I am trying to copy this fragment and I have problems with the accidentals in figure 12 (Ex. 1).
What I get is both accidentals together before the notes on the e in the left hand in beat 2 (Ex. 2). I tried to offset the voices to imitate Ex. 1 layout, but now I cannot arrange the beam (Ex. 3). Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

I have another problem, the beam connecting the last eigth note in the right hand of the bar before figure 12 dissapears on the next line. I can't figure out how to fix this either. Any advice is welcome.

It seems the real problem with the accidentals is the location of the notes. To move the notes, select a note and in the chord section, move the notes on the left to the right some and the notes on the right to the left some. You will probably need to start by moving one too far, then moving it back otherwise the notes will stop on top of each other.

As far as the beams are concerned, this is a known bug (#16278: Beaming notes over barlines and line breaks) that has not yet been fixed. I guess the problem is very difficult, but I'm not a programmer. I don't allow beams to be connected when there is a system break in the middle of them to prevent this. I do prefer to make the score look like the original, but I insist that it make sense to the musician and be playable.
