Sfzs and Crashing
I already know there have been some articles on crashing in Musescore, but those did not fix my problems. I have loaded into Musescore a whole bunch of sfzs from http://virtualplaying.com/virtual-playing-orchestra/. When I go to save my song, often it won't even up the option to save it, completely broken; and so I would have to restart Musescore over and over again. And at times Musescore just crashes randomly.

In order to help, we would need you to attach your score and steps to reproduce the problem. It's conceivable the soundfonts are also related to some of the problems you are seeing, but I can't see any way they would prevent saving from working. Or are you saying it works perfectly without the soundfonts loaded, but fails as soon as you load them, and that is is repeatable? If so, maybe post the links to the specific soundfonts with the problem.
