Using MuseScore version 2.3.0 (not 2.3-dev, but it was the closest in the dropdown) ...

While entering figured bass notation (which overall is awesome, BTW), I find that 6+ yields 6-Slash. Both slashes (\ and /) work as documented in https://musescore.org/en/handbook/figured-bass.

See measure 3 in attachment. I have entered 6+.

This also happens in 2.2.1. I don't have a 2.1 build currently on my computer so I haven't tested it there.

It's implemented like this since the first versions 2.X. In other words, it's by design (I talk under the control of Miwarre).

BTW, it's documented as such in the handbook, I quote:
" '+' can also be used before a digit; in this case it is not combined, but it is properly aligned ('+' hanging at the left side)"

Concerning this piece of Philidor, you observe the 6 is precedeed by a '+', except in the measure 3 : Philidor.pdf
I could not say whether it's a shell in the text or an exception / non-common case of notation, or something else. Nevertheless, you can get the desired result like this:

On the B note, simply enter regular text (Ctrl + T), so: 6+. Then, in the Inspector, change the text style via the drop-down list by choosing "Figured Bass". See the result: Suite4bis.mscz

I was able to enter text as cadiz1 suggests, and that can be my workaround. But I fail to see how this is "by design". cadiz1 states "you observe the 6 is precedeed by a '+', except in the measure 3". But I did not state that. I stated that I entered '6+' and instead MuseScore produced a backslashed-6. Looking more carefully at the Philidor manuscript it's possible that 6-slash is intended. I will have to ask someone more expert in interpreting figured bass. But either way, shouldn't it be possible to enter '6+' and get '6+'?

I do note that it the manual says that a '+' can be put before a digit, but that should not replace the ability to put a '+' after a digit in my opinion.

As I am new to MuseScore I will not reset the status, but would appreciate it if further thought can be applied to this issue.

Since a + after a number has no meaning in figured bass, it seems that the backslash through the number is the best way to interpret it since this is most likely what the user means. The alternative would be to move the plus before the number where it belongs and I would have no objection to this.
