How to add an Optional Ending
Hello friends!
I have a score which has a two-measure optional ending. That is, you can end it in the normal place, or you can optionally add the two additional measures.
I'm trying to figure out the right/best/Muse was of indicating this.
Voltas don't appear to be the right solution since there is no repeating involved, and the below discussion (the closest match I found) also doesn't seem to help:

Thanks again in advance!

Alternative measures to play are usually indicated as an ossia. See https://musescore.org/en/node/46236 and https://musescore.org/en/node/46226 for possible methods.

Thanks for the idea, but I think this is to address cases where there ALTERNATIVE ways to play existing measures. In other words, to put notation in PARALLEL with existing notation.
I, on the other hand, have measures I want to add in SERIES with existing notation. It doesn't replace anything. In the shot below, the optional ending is shown in red. You can add it, or you can stop before you get to it.
Does this help clarify?
Thanks!

I now understand. If I were to be writing this I would put a note on the second measure you posted that says something like:
"From here to the end is optional"
