Score is larger than computer capability

My computer bogged down after writing 23 measures for 20 instruments, It is a 3month old 17" laptop with 8GB DDR4 Memory and 1,000 GB HDD.
Can I write the score in 5 or 6 sections, explode the individual instruments and re assemble them for editing ??? Am I asking too much of the computer, I anticipated over 100 measures per instrument. Your help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

You should not have any issues with this score unless you have already used file->parts to extract parts. Wait until the score is finished to do this. Besides keeping the score smaller and memory usage down it will also assure all items are passed from the main score to the parts. There are a few items that do not get passed back and forth between the score and parts.
That shouldn't have caused any problem at all. Probably some internal issue in the file is causing problems.
Best to attach the score so we can investigate further and hopefully correct the problem.
