Increase Size of Barlines

• Jul 13, 2014 - 01:02

It is difficult to see the current size of the "repeat barlines". I found information about increasing the thickness of the barline by going to Edit General Style > Barlines but in my version 1.3 there are no options listed to make any changes. Anyone know of a way to do this? Thanks

Difficult to see on paper?

Or on the screen?

If the latter then Zoom is your friend :)

YOu can either zoom in or out with CTRL + mouse scrollwheel or use the Zoom menu located between the undo/redo buttons and the Enable sound while editing button

Yes, I think you are judging by size on screen, don't worry - that's just an artifact of the resizing that goes on. Printer they should look fine already. But FWIW, MuseScore 2.0 will allow more customizaion of the appearance of barlines.

Could you post a PDF that shows what you are talking about? I'm wondering if you are doing something incorrectly or if something is wrong on your system, because normally, the repeats should be a very standard size and as easy to see as repeats in any published music you might ever encounter. If you are producing charts for jazz musicians, they are often accustomed to seeing "winged" repeats, and MuseScore provides that option as well via Style / Edit General Style / Barlines.

Thanks. This might do it if it doesn't increase the number of pages significantly. I use winged repeat barlines and my printer resolution is set correctly. I still curious about the information regarding thickening the barline by setting the General Style. I've attached this information, however, I do not have these options to adjust the settings. Thanks again.
