My notes become blue instead of being deleted when I press delete. Why?

Oh, it was only rests.
See voices: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/voices#delete-hide-rests
You can delete rests from voice 2, 3 and 4, rest from voice 1 you can only select invisible, but not delete rests from voice 1. It avoids, that there's no conflict between the measure duration and the duration of the containing notes/rests.
(but it's possible to deselect "show invisible" inside the menu->view)
To further expand:
Deleting a note (sound) replaces it with a rest (silence) in order to keep your other ntoes and rests from inadvertently changing time position. Deleting silence doesn't really make sense. If the goal is to in fact take some unspecified number of subsequent notes and move them earlier, don't do this indirectly by deleting something - do it directly using cut and paste.
