No sound on one drumset instrument
I entered 2 wood blocks in the drumset edit and there is no sound. All the others on my custom drumset are fine.
Since there was no named wood blocks in the column, I went down to numbers 88 and 89 which correspond with the #s on my MIDI instrument (which I am NOT using) and put the name in, the type of note head, stem position and voice 1. The notes entered the staff okay, but there is no sound on playback.
What did I do wrong?

Without checking it, as far as I see woodblock should be key 76 and 77, see: https://musescore.org/sites/musescore.org/files/General%20MIDI%20Standa…

You are correct. It worked.
What baffles me is that my MIDI instrument, an older Yamaha, shows 88 and 89 for Hi and Low wood block on it, as does the handbook.
But... thanks! ( Eventually I'll figure all this out.)

Which Handbook page do you see the error on? I tried to find it but couldn't.
As for your Yamaha keyboard, if it's more than maybe 25 years old or so, it wouldn't be that surprising if it has its own non-standard mappings - that predates the more-or-less universal adoption of the General MIDI standard.

The "handbook" I mentioned is that for the Yamaha PSR-410, NOT that of MuseScore. I did not make that clear.
The date on the handbook is 1993. I did suspect it predates universality.
BTW - as per your assistance with drumset notation, I was able to set up a more efficient and clear custom drumset (percussion) on the current movement, putting 4 percussion instruments plus concert toms on a five line staff!
Thanks again.
