Organizing music (musicbee)
Hi,
just want to share a free music organizer with you: musicbee https://getmusicbee.com/ . (I tried Clementine and Amarok before, and it's a different universe with musicbee.)
Besides playing (m)any audio formats, you can organize them into several libraries, tag the music, retrieve it, create playlists, listen to online streams and the like. You can retrieve or add lyrics, artwork (photos), biographies. So it's pretty entertaining and educating :)
Nerds can adapt layout, colors and information to their taste, or just download just another skin.
W.r.t. MuseScore, at the moment you could export your creations to mp3 and organize those files with musicbee. At the moment I don't see, how to replay MuseScore data directly with musicbee. However, when entering video files, musicbee opens one of my video-players and just starts the music from there. Perhaps this can be done with MuseScore files, too?
So, why not starting to (re-)organize your MuseScore creations?
:)
Best, Michael

Looks nice! If you are just using regular OS file associations to play the video file, no reason it could work for MuseScore too, then - just try it! Also, a MuseScore score - MSCZ file - just a ZIP archive, within it you'll find a thumbnail you can use as "album art"

Thanks :)
Just let me know, if it works with MSCZ-files, too. On the fly, musicbee didn't seem to recognize the link to MuseScore's executable. Please prove me wrong :)

Hi, I posted a request about this in the musicbee-forum. Let you know results.
So far, what works is this:
* adding mp4- or mp3 files: played within Musicbee (MB)
* adding mid-files: same
* adding flv-files: MB calls external video player
Rational: In "Edit/Edit preferences", section Player, MB knows
* the correct path set to some soundfont-file
* to use the windows default video player
Obviously MB knows how to deal with mp3 or mp4.
MB does not, i.e. does not, add, show or handle .mscz or decompressed .mscx files, and there seems to be now way to add a call to musescore.exe .
With these restrictions, exporting a sheet to mp3 or midi beforehand, MB works fine with MueScore-creations :)
Best, Michael
FYI, Musicbees " Topic: Official MB appreciation thread". Check it out :)
